Eric at Fit2Box has been providing senior fitness training to older population clients for over 20 years. He has also suffered numerous injuries (back, knee shoulder etc.) himself and learned alot from Physical Therapists which gives him a great understanding and empathy when dealing with his personal training clients. Also over the last 20 years Eric has completed many CECs and kept up to date with all new issues facing personal trainers dealing with the older clients and those with past injuries. Current day Personal Trainers have become very knowledgeable about mobility and stability issues that once were only understood by physical therapists. In the last 5 – 10 years many veteran trainers have been learning the importance of evaluating clients for mobility and stability issues before engaging in any challenging strength or functional training which could injure the client. Once a baseline of mobility and stability can be established it is much easier to develop a program that avoids injury and helps get better training results. Therefore, we strive to continually monitor our senior fitness training clients and any mobility and stability issues that may occur.
